Mooi opiniestuk over het belang van kunst en de mogelijke impact van 'Open art'. En over de keerzijde van Don't make me think:

* I think that technology design in general is still largely creativity-numbing for users. Why? Because no matter how smart and creative technologists themselves are, they put a lot of thought and effort into not making users of their products think. It’s related to the usability mantra of making products “idiot proof” — complex on the inside but simple on the outside. Technology products are highly optimized around the user, to make things easy, simple, fast, seamless, even invisible. But while convenient, the current status quo is also intellectually and emotionally unchallenging*

Het is wederom een prachtige paradox: je wilt in flow raken en dus niet afgeleid worden door de techniek <-->je wilt uitgedaagd worden meer uit de mogelijkheden te halen.
